Bloomberg makes newsroom changes, creates news desks

Bloomberg is also establishing three regional “News Desks” to help own stories across platforms, with Adriana Arai running the Asia News Desk from Hong Kong. David Merritt will run the EMEA News Desk from London and Joe Weisenthal runs the Americas News Desk from New York. Julie Alnwick, Rakshita Saluja, David Papadopoulos and Matt Levine join the New York News Desk.

Helder Marinho will become head of local languages and report to Chris Collins.

Simon Kennedy, currently Brexit czar, will join Stephanie Flanders‘ new Bloomberg Economics team as her deputy.

London bureau chief Emma Ross-Thomas becomes the new Brexit czar in London, and David Merritt will cover her bureau chief duties as a new London bureau chief is selected.

Bloomberg TV producer Mindy Massucci will lead the Twitter TV editorial team, and Megan Chu takes on her role as executive producer for Global Operations.

Rachel Wehrspann becomes executive producer for U.S.-based programs.

Regional Editing Hubs will work alongside the News Desks, with David Gillen taking over the U.S., Brian Bremner running the Asia hub, and Jim Hertling running the European hub.
