Bloomberg Law’s Penn moves to Justice beat

Ben Penn

Bloomberg Law reporter Ben Penn is now covering the Justice Department beat for the news organization.

He has been covering labor and employment.

Penn joined Bloomberg Law in January 2013. He previously was a reporter and editor of Part B News, the weekly newsletter for physician practices.

Penn, a University of Maryland graduate, was a Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan in 2018.

He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
