Sara Merken has joined Reuters as a legal reporter covering privacy and data security.
Her new role begins April 13.
Recently, Merken was with Bloomberg Law working as a privacy and data security reporter where she pitched, reported and wrote daily and feature articles for the organization. Before that, she was with Bloomberg BNA as a start reporter covering a range of topics, including environmental and health care law and policy, corporate governance, and financial technology regulation.
Merken has also served as an intern at Wilson Center and as an editorial intern in the legal division at Bloomberg. Also, she was with Planet Forward where she worked as a video production intern pursuing documentary video projects, editing footage and researching and writing for the website.
Merken holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and international affairs from George Washington University.
