Bloomberg Government, the new service from Bloomberg covering the intersection between business and politics, will bolster its coverage of Capitol Hill this spring with the introduction of Capitol Intelligence, a feature that will deliver news and insights about what’s happening in Congress.
Capitol Intelligence will be part of BGOV.com.
Katherine Rizzo, who directed Congressional Quarterly’s news coverage of the House and Senate leadership and was managing editor of CQPolitics.com, will lead the Capitol Intelligence team. She will be joined by Loren Duggan, former editor of House Action Reports at CQ, who will head up legislative analysis and intelligence. Additional reporters and editors will join the team in the coming weeks and months.
“Congress is the crucible of policymaking,” said Mike Riley, managing editor of Bloomberg Government, in a statement. “We are expanding our coverage of Capitol Hill as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure BGOV subscribers get the insights and intelligence they need to make critical business decisions, quickly.”
Bloomberg News already boasts one of the largest congressional teams in Washington, including Julie Hirschfeld Davis, Laura Litvan, Lisa Lerer, James Rowley, Brian Faler, Cathy Dodge, Heidi Przybyla, and editors Laurie Asseo and Don Frederick.
