The union that represents employees at Bloomberg Industry Group sent out the following to its members on Monday:
Dear Colleagues,
This morning you received an email from HR “asking” you to take a survey indicating whether or not you have received a Covid-19 vaccine. The email indicated that employee responses are “required by May 13th.”
Although we understand INDG’s desire to plan for a return to the office and to protect employees who are already returning, the Guild has concerns regarding the survey. Specifically, there is apparently no option to decline to respond, thus seemingly requiring employees to give protected health information to the employer.
The Guild has asked for a meeting with Christina Correira and HR to discuss why the company is requesting this information, how INDG plans to use employees’ PHI, how it plans to keep such information confidential, and options for employees who do not wish to supply their PHI to the company.
We will keep you posted as these discussions move forward.
