Bloomberg hires Taibi as social media editor

Catherine TaibiCatherine TaibiCatherine Taibi, deputy media editor at The Huffington Post, has been hired by Bloomberg as a social media editor.

Her first day will be July 27. She will be part of the team led by Kari Hodes, head of audience development.

As the deputy media editor at Huffington Post, Taibi has overseen the The Huffington Post’s media vertical. She selected stories that the section will cover, writing and filing eight to 12 stories daily, pitching stories to the front page, and assigning stories to other writers.

Taibi also trained HuffPost Media’s Fellow in everything from story development to SEO to social media to image selection. And she managed HuffPost Media’s social media accounts.

She got her BA in English/writing from Wesleyan University and has previously worked at HarperCollins Publishers and GolinHarris.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
