Bloomberg hires senior reporter in DC

Bloomberg News executive editor and Washington bureau chief Megan Murphy made the following announcement on Monday:
I’m thrilled to announce that we have just hired Jennifer Jacobs as a senior reporter to help us cover the most interesting presidential race in memory. She will report to John Geddes. As followers of politics already know, Jennifer has spent the last twelve years at The Des Moines Register, most recently as chief political reporter, covering the last three presidential elections. Previously she spent five years as a general assignment reporter at The Post-Standard in Syracuse, NY and began her career as a city government reporter at the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier.
Jennifer joins Bloomberg Politics at a time when web traffic is at an all-time high: in February the site received 5.6 million unique visitors, more than doubling our traffic from last year. We continue to see momentum in video viewers, ranking at #5 in unique video viewers among all news/politics outlets, and posting the best three-months from December to February. Coverage of the election continues to dominate readership on the terminal as well.
Please give Jennifer a warm welcome — she starts on April 4 in Washington, D.C.
