Bloomberg tech team leader Jillian Ward sent out the following announcement on Tuesday:
Tech/VC colleagues:
I’m very happy to announce that Mark Bergen will be joining Bloomberg’s Global Tech team in the U.S. to cover Alphabet and Google. Mark comes to us from Recode, where he was a senior editor on the same beat, and where he kept us on our toes by breaking news on Bill Maris’s departure from Google ventures and the creation of a VR unit, among other scoops.
Before his stint at Recode, Mark worked at Advertising Age and as a freelance writer from India for the NYT, WSJ and other esteemed publications.
Mark will work out of our SF bureau after starting in New York on Sept. 26. He’s on Twitter at @mhbergen. We’re looking forward to great work ahead.
He is a graduate of the College of Wooster and the University of Chicago.
