Bloomberg hires Pfanner from WSJ

Bloomberg has hired the Wall Street Journal’s Eric Pfanner to help shape its coverage of U.K. business, reports Alex Spence of Politico.

Spence writes, “Pfanner was a senior corporate correspondent at the WSJ, based in Japan. He was previously at the New York Times and International Herald Tribune.

“As an editor in Bloomberg’s London office, Pfanner will help steer coverage of global business issues, ‘inserting a broader perspective and working across different teams in London and beyond,’ Benedikt Kammel, the managing editor of global business news Europe, said in a message to staff Friday morning.

“He will also help out on coverage of the telecoms sector in Britain until Bloomberg finds a reporter to fill a vacancy on the beat, Kammel said.”
