Bloomberg hires Hirtzer to cover ag markets in Chicago

Michael Hirtzer

Michael Hirtzer has been hired by Bloomberg News to cover agriculture markets from its Chicago bureau.

Hirtzer had previously been with Reuters in its Chicago bureau covering agriculture and derivatives.

His work has also appeared in the New York Times, USA Today, the Chicago Tribune, CNBC, Forbes, Fortune, Scientific American, the Guardian, the Globe and Mail, Huffington Post, Yahoo News and others.

Hirtzer also worked for the Southtown Star in Chicago. He holds a degree from Columbia College.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
