Bloomberg News has hired Tom Hancock as a senior reporter covering the China economy.
He is currently based in Hong Kong but will be moving to Beijing.
“Together with a great team in Beijing, I’ll be covering the impact of big economic trends on the livelihoods of China’s 1.4bn people, and China’s changing trade and investment relations with the world,” he wrote on LinkedIn.
Hancock has been at the Financial Times since December 2016 covering consumer and leisure industries in China. He also worked for Agence France-Presse for more than four years as a China and Mongolia correspondent.
Hancock holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Cambridge.
