Bloomberg hires financial services reporter in DC

Washington bureau chief and executive editor Megan Murphy sent out the following hiring announcement Friday morning:

I am delighted to announce that we’ve hired Kevin Cirilli, a reporter for The Hill, to bolster our Washington-based coverage of financial services regulation and policy on Jesse Westbrook‘s team.

Kevin, who got his start in Washington on Politico’s breaking news team after covering the Jerry Sandusky trial at Penn State, has proven himself to be a tireless scoop-getter and brings a ton of energy to the beat. With the Hill, he’s broken stories on Sen. Richard Shelby’s Dodd-Frank overhaul plan and White House trade negotiations, and over the summer, he interviewed Donald Trump in his high-rise Manhattan office. Kevin is as comfortable in front of a TV camera as a keyboard, and we expect him to become a big contributor to Bloomberg TV as well.

Please join me in welcoming Kevin to the team.

Cirilli starts Oct. 26.
