Bloomberg hires editor to oversee coverage of wealthy

Matthew Miller will join Bloomberg News as editor at large starting in February, the news service announced Monday.

Miller will oversee the expansion of Bloomberg’s reporting on the world’s wealthiest individuals.

Miller is currently chief research officer at Wealth-X, an intelligence firm focused on wealthy individuals. Until 2010, he was the global wealth editor at Forbes Media, where he served as the editor of the Forbes 400 annual ranking of America’s wealthiest citizens and co-editor of the Forbes World’s Billionaires issue.

“Matt Miller brings exceptional knowledge and experience reporting on the people with the most stake who are at the center of the global community of Bloomberg users,” said Matthew Winkler, editor in chief of Bloomberg News, in a statement.

At Forbes, Miller also covered the financial markets and the influence of business in politics. He holds a B.S. in finance and economics from Virginia Tech  and an M.S. in financial journalism from New York University.
