Bloomberg hires CNBC’s LaVito for health team

Bloomberg News has hired CNBC.com reporter Angelica LaVito for its health team.

She will start on Jan. 6.

“I’m so grateful for my experience at CNBC and am incredibly excited for this next venture,” she wrote on Twitter.

LaVito covered health care, pharmaceuticals, bio-tech and products designed to improve consumers’ lifestyle at CNBC. Before joining CNBC, LaVito interned with Politico and one of Chicago Tribune’s local newspapers.

She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in political science.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
