Until October, Bennett had been head of The Wire, Atlantic Media’s news and culture site, providing early morning coverage for readers catching up on the latest stories and covering breaking news throughout the day. He previously was an editor and writer at Business Insider, where Weisenthal was executive editor.
A graduate of Michigan State, Bennett was also an editor at Gawker’s Deadspin.
Weisenthal continues to build out his team, having recently announced the hiring of Tracy Alloway from the Financial Times who will serve as executive editor of Bloomberg Media’s markets coverage.
