Ilya Bañares has joined Bloomberg Canada as a full-time reporter.
Based in Toronto, he is an equities reporter covering Canadian companies and North American markets.
Previously, he was a breaking news reporter at Toronto Star. He has also worked at Varsity Publications Inc. for more than 2 years, joining as a freelance associate editor and then later on holding the posts of deputy news editor and managing online editor.
He has also worked as a campus tour guide at University of Toronto.
Bañares has a bachelor’s degree in international relations, History and political science from University of Toronto.
