Bloomberg News has hired reporter Maya Averbuch to cover economy and government stories from Mexico City.
She previously had been freelancing for Bloomberg since January 2020.
Averbuch has been in Mexico since 2016 and has been freelancing for other publications, covering immigration and politics, with stories in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, The Daily Beast, Foreign Policy, The New Republic, Guernica, Wired, and Univision.
She is a graduate of Yale University in humanities. While at Yale, she was a senior editor for the Yale Literary Magazine.
