Scott Newman, who was the primary contact at Bloomberg for many daily newspaper business editors for more than a decade, has left the New York company.
For the past 16 months, Newman had been director of content syndication at Bloomberg, working with media organizations to develop partnership ideas with Bloomberg. He was involved in the deal, for example, where the San Francisco Chronicle coordinates daily with Bloomberg’s 50-person San Francisco news bureau to produce the paper’s business section.
Before that, Newman was manager of editorial sales for North America, working with business editors across the country to provide them Bloomberg content. He traveled to newspapers on a regular basis and also attended the annual Society of American Business Editors and Writers conference.
Newman, a graduate of Northeastern University, was also a reporter at Bloomberg, and he worked at television stations and the Pittsburgh Press.
