Bloomberg News has tapped Deirdre Hipwell to the role of consumer and health care team leader for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Previously, she held the post of retail reporter.
In her new role, she replaces Eric Pfanner, who now moves to the role of EMEA global business managing editor at Bloomberg.
Hipwell has also served as a property, retail and mergers and acquisitions editor at The Times of London. She was with The Times for more than 8 years working on the business section of the newspaper.
She was also with United Business Media, Property Week Magazine for 6 years, working as an assistant editor, finance.
Hipwell is a graduate of Macalester College.
