Black Enterprise editor at large inks radio deal

February 9, 2011

Alfred Edmond Jr., senior vice president and editor at large for Black Enterprise magazine, has signed a deal with American Urban Radio Networks to produce a daily, short form feature titled “Money Matters.”

Edmond already appears regularly on PBS’s “Nightly Business Report,” as a contributor to American Express’ “Open Forum,” CNN and as an expert on MSNBC’s “Your Business.”

Edmond joined Black Enterprise in 1987 as an associate editor and advanced to business editor later that year. In 1990 he was promoted to senior editor/administration, then to managing editor in 1992. He was made executive editor in 1995, named editor-in-chief in 2000 and assumed his current role in June 2008.

“Wealth is not a matter of how much money you have, but what you do with it,” said Edmond in a statement. “I look forward to sharing daily insights and information that will help African Americans and other urban listeners to not only make more money, but manage it more effectively in order to achieve their goals and dreams.”
