Fran Daniel of the Winston-Salem Journal writes about Black Business Ink, a monthly magazine celebrating its 15th anniversary.
Daniel writes, “Black Business Ink has subscribers throughout the country, but it focuses on the Triad, and is making plans for expanding into the Triangle.
“Black Business Ink is a free publication. It is a glossy, four-color monthly magazine.
“‘I guess we’re a hybrid between Black Enterprise and Ebony (magazines),’ Williams said.
“He said the magazine’s mission has never changed in the past 15 years.
“‘Our mission is still to advocate for black-owned businesses,’ he said.
“In Winston-Salem, the magazine is distributed in zones throughout the city and can be found in such establishments as hair salons, barber shops, doctor offices and churches, a major distribution vehicle for the publication.
“He said his magazine may have broadened the definition of business because it profiles church leaders, not just business executives from major local corporations.”
