Biz publications to hold annual conference next month

The Alliance of Area Business Publishers will hold its 2019 summer conference next month in Atlanta.

The event will be held June 27-29 at the Hilton Atlanta. To register, go here.

The conference has separate schedules for publishers, ad directors and journalists.

The keynote speakers include Digiday founder and CEO Nick Friese and editor Walter Robinson, who led the Boston Globe’s Spotlight team.

The Alliance represents 70 regional and local business publications in the United States, Canada, Australia and Puerto Rico.

The combined circulation of its member publications is over 1.2 million business professionals.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
