Cheddar will broadcast its “Opening Bell” markets coverage daily from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and its “Closing Bell” coverage from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
“Twitter is live,” said Jon Steinberg, CEO and founder of Cheddar, in a statement. “We are thrilled and proud to make it the exclusive free to access platform for our new hour of closing bell coverage. ‘Finance Twitter’ is giant, and we are excited to be its digital-first closing bell network.”
“Opening Bell” is broadcast from the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange and is hosted by Jon Steinberg and Kristen Scholer. “Closing Bell” is hosted by Scholer and Krysia Lenzo.
The company was founded by Steinberg, president and chief operating officer of BuzzFeed from 2010 to 2014. Its investors include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Comcast Ventures, Ribbit Capital, and Homebrew.
