Biz magazines shut out of Ellies

None of the business and financial publications among those nominated as National Magazine Awards 2015 finalists won during the award ceremony on Monday.

That’s in contrast to 2014, when Fast Company won the award of Magazine of the Year, the top award.

This year, Harvard Business Review and Inc. were finalists in the special interest magazine category.

Wired was a finalist in the design category.

Bloomberg Businessweek‘s “85th Anniversary Issue,” Dec. 8 was a finalist in the single-topic issue category, while Bloomberg Businessweek’s Etc. section and Inc.’s Made section were finalists in the magazine section category.

Consumer Reports‘  “A Beautiful Death,” in December print edition and at consumerreports.org was a finalist in the multimedia category.

Bloomberg Businessweek’s “Border Lines,” photographs by Kirsten Luce, Dec. 1, was a finalist in the feature photography category.
