Vella most recently was executive editor at Time overseeing enterprise reporting projects. He had been the magazine’s business editor from 2013 to 2014 and then was an assistant managing editor.

He worked for Fortune from July 2011 to 2013, editing its technology section and leading daily tech, innovation and autos coverage on Fortune.com.
Vella worked at BusinessWeek from 2007 to 2009 as a reporter in the innovation and design section, Before that, he worked briefly for The Wall Street Journal’s online operation and as a reporter writing features and spot news for BusinessWeek.com.
