Russell Adams of The Wall Street Journal writes Tuesday that the next managing editor of the Washington Post could be Raju Narisetti, a well-known business journalist who stepped down last month as the top editor of Mint, a business newspaper in India.
Adams writes, “One strong candidate to play a key role is Raju Narisetti, who recently left his job as editor of Mint, a business newspaper in India, according to people familiar with the situation. Mr. Narisetti was a longtime colleague of Mr. Brauchli, who became executive editor of the Post in the fall after a career at The Wall Street Journal.
“Both Mr. Brauchli and Mr. Narisetti had long careers at the Journal that included a period in which Mr. Narisetti was editor of the paper’s European edition and reported to Mr. Brauchli, who was global news editor.
“Mr. Brauchli said through a Post spokeswoman he ‘has not yet named anyone to succeed Phil or Jim.'”
