Patrick Houston, who has served as a BusinessWeek bureau chief, ZDNet executive producer, CNET.com editor-in-chief, and founding general manager of Yahoo Tech, has been hired as editorial director of the Bitcoin Market Journal.
He will be based in San Francisco.
Houston will oversee Bitcoin Market Journal’s broad strategy, tactics, and content for web site, its newsletters, video, and other content products.
In addition to running newsrooms, Houston has recently been an executive at a series of media and software startups, including his own MediaArchitechs Inc.
“Blockchain is the next big wave,” said Houston in a statement. “Some are calling it Internet 3.0, or the Internet of Value. The opportunity to lead in this space is enormous, from educating investors on best practices to helping policymakers create common-sense regulations.”
