Joanie Stiers, the former business editor of the Galesburg Register-Mail in Illinois, is coming back to the paper to cover the ag beat, reports editor Tom Martin.
“Joanie started with The Register-Mail in January 2002 as a reporter covering agriculture and southern Knox County. She was promoted to business editor in January 2004. In August 2005 she stepped down as business editor to work part-time as ag reporter, which allowed her more time with her family. She resigned from that position in November 2007.
“Joanie won many awards during her time here and was an integral member of the staff. We’re glad to bring her work back to the pages of The Register-Mail.”
