Birmingham Biz Journal real estate reporter Godwin is leaving

Brent Godwin

Brent Godwin, the real estate reporter for the Birmingham Business Journal, has resigned.

Godwin is joining Cahaba Media Group, which publishes trade magazines and websites, as manager of email operations.

“I’m incredibly grateful and proud of the work we’ve done here and the stories I’ve gotten to tell,” said Godwin on Twitter. “What has happened in Birmingham is actually beyond words, but it’s been my job to put words to it, and I hope I did it justice.”

Godwin rejoined the paper in September 2015 as its commercial real estate reporter.  He was an editorial intern there in the summer of 2011,  and then was research director from 2011 to 2013. Then, he was online editor from 2013 to 2014.

Godwin left the paper in 2014 and worked in sales in Atlanta for a year.
