Birmingham Biz Journal editor West promoted to national role

Ty West

Ty West, who has served as editor-in-chief of the Birmingham Business Journal since 2016, has been named senior editor, national content for American City Business Journals.

Stephanie Rebman of the Business Journal writes, “In the newly created role, West will be responsible for the growth and success of ACBJ’s national coverage of the real-world problems and opportunities that business owners and executives face in running their organizations.

“He will remain in Birmingham for the new position.

“‘This new role combines journalism, entrepreneurship and a chance to remain in Birmingham, which are three things I’m very passionate about,’ West said. ‘Being the editor of the BBJ has been the favorite role of my career. I’m very proud of the work our team has accomplished, and I know they’ll continue to excel moving forward.’

“West has been with the BBJ since 2006, serving as special sections coordinator, associate editor and managing editor before becoming editor-in-chief.”
