Benson named editor of Louisville Business First

Lisa BensonLisa BensonCincinnati Business Courier managing editor Lisa Benson has been named editor of Louisville Business First, a sister publication, effective Nov. 30.

Business Courier editor Rob Daumeyer writes, “Benson has been managing editor of the Business Courier since 2010, and joined the paper as an associate editor in 1999. At the Business Courier, she was responsible for the day-to-day management of the newsroom. Since becoming managing editor five years ago, Benson has been instrumental in the redesign of the Courier‘s Weekly Edition as well overseeing a more than 300 percent increase in digital traffic.

“‘Louisville Business First is getting a great editor in Lisa Benson,’ said Courier Publisher Jamie Smith. ‘Lisa has been a vital part of the digital growth of the Business Courier and she will be greatly missed.’

“Benson graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in news-editorial journalism.”

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
