The Baton Rouge Advocate has hired Kristen Mosbrucker as a business reporter.
She started Thursday and will cover general business, which includes economic development, research, technology, workforce development, the film industry, the petrochemical industry, port, insurance, health care and banking and transportation news.
Mosbrucker previously was a reporter for the San Antonio Business Journal covering the technology sector, finance industry and U.S. military operations based in San Antonio. She also spearheaded a Facebook Live series that brought traditional print journalism to a broader audience.
Before the Business Journal, Mosbrucker spent a year covering the business beat in the Rio Grande Valley for the McAllen Monitor, the largest newspaper in Southeast Texas, on the Texas-Mexico border.
She is a Temple University graduate and also worked for WHYY in Philadelphia.
