Bloomberg News reporter Sonali Basak has a new beat covering Morgan Stanley and the U.S. operations of UBS.
She will also be covering investment banking across all of Wall Street and dealmaking among financial firms and their private equity counterparts.
Basak has been at Bloomberg since January 2014, covering the insurance industry, institutional investing, asset managers and independent investment banks such as Lazard and Evercore. She also previously worked with the M&A, emerging markets, entertainment, healthcare and education desks.
Basak is a former startup and technology reporter who wrote for publications such as MarketWatch, Chicago Tribune’s Blue Sky Initiative, Kellogg School of Management, United Press International, McClatchy, Techonomy, Techli and Tech Cocktail.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University in English and a master’s degree from Northwestern University. She’s also currently enrolled at New York University’s MBA program.
