I’m happy to announce that our new Senior Money Editor Nick Mathews will be joining us in the Florida office. Our reporter staff will be reporting to him. You can find him on Twitter at https://twitter.com/Nick_Mathews.
Most recently, Nick served as the Central Virginia Regional Editor for BH Media, overseeing all newsroom operations at the Charlottesville Daily Progress, the Waynesboro News Virginian and the Culpeper Star-Exponent. Previously, Nick had a long career in sports journalism, including a four-year stint as the sports editor of the Houston Chronicle.
In 2014, Nick was named to the prestigious Editor and Publisher 25-under-35 report, its annual list of the most influential young journalists in the country.
Nick said he is thrilled to start at Bankrate and can’t wait to begin “telling the compelling stories of personal finance through the compelling people involved in personal finance, from the market leaders to the normal, everyday people, like in my tiny Central Illinois hometown of Pekin, Ill.”
Nick said his goal is to make personal finance information interesting and engaging to a mass audience and to create shareable content across all platforms that will help grow Bankrate reach across the country.
