Jesse Noyes of the Boston Herald writes Tuesday that the Bancroft family remains divided over whether to sell Dow Jones & Co., the parent of The Wall Street Journal, to News Corp. for $5 billion.
“‘We’re still undecided,’ Bancroft said. ‘Everyone has to decide for himself.’
“Christopher Bancroft made his comments as he departed the Hilton Hotel in Boston, where members of the Bancroft family gathered to mull over a potential blockbuster sale of Dow Jones to media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp.
“The family had a very productive meeting and now have all the information they need to make a good decision on the News Corp. offer,’ Hemenway & Barnes lawyer Michael Elefante told reporters outside a hotel where the family was meeting.”
