Bad day on Wall Street = Great day for CNBC

Steve Krakauer of TVNewser reports that the stock market drop and Wall Street issues on Monday led to CNBC‘s best viewership in seven years.

CNBCKrakauer writes, “On the worst day on Wall St. since it re-opened after September 11, 2001, more viewers watched the business news network yesterday since the day CNBC re-opened after 9/11 (on September 17, 2001). An average of 488,000 total viewers watched CNBC between 5amET-7pmET (CNBC’s ‘business day’).

“Some shows saw their best ratings. Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer had its highest viewership average ever (498,000), as did ‘Fast Money’ at 5pmET (508,000).

“It was also the best ‘Power Lunch,’ from Noon-2pmET (728,000), since April 17, 2000 in Total Viewers.

“CNBC.com saw more than 14.6 million page views yesterday.”
