Azevedo appointed managing editor of FinLedger

Mary Ann Azevedo

Mary Ann Azevedo has been named managing editor at FinLedger.

In her new role, Azevedo will be working with HW Media CEO Clayton Collins, directing news and content strategy of FinLedger and creating a team of fintech journalists to support the company’s audience of financial services professionals.

Azevedo came to HW Media in June 2020 as fintech editor for HousingWire.

She is also a contributor at Forbes where she covers the intersection or real estate and technology.

Previously, Azevedo was working as a senior reporter at Crunchbase News. She was also ranked No. 7 on Techmeme’s leaderboard for “Author by Presence,” for the ability to deeply report on, and break news in, the technology industry.

Azevedo has also served as Austin correspondent for Crain’s and has also worked as a real estate reporter at Silicon Valley Business Journal. She was also at Houston Business Journal for more than 6 years, joining as a reporter, technology and health care and then holding the post of assistant managing editor.

Additionally, Azevedo has also worked at CountryWatch.com, dbusiness.com, ICIS News, The Dispatch – Lexington, News & Record and OMNI Magazine.
