Axios Charlotte has hired Charlotte Observer growth and economic development reporter Danielle Chemtob to be an investigative reporter.
She has been with the paper since January 2019. She will start at Axios on June 7.
She interned in 2018 at The Wall Street Journal and in 2017 at the Triangle Business Journal in Raleigh. She won the student Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing Best in Business contest for a story she wrote for the Business Journal.
Chemtob, a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, was investigations editor for The Daily Tar Heel student newspaper.
