Axios has hired Scott Rosenberg as its tech editor and Joe Uchill as its cybersecurity reporter.
Uchill will write a new email newsletter on cybersecurity, called Axios Codebook, starting March 27.
Rosenberg, who starts next Monday, has been a contributor to Backchannel, Steven Levy’s technology-focused publication (formerly owned by Medium, now part of Conde Nast). He has also written a daily email newsletter for John Battelle’s NewCo.
From 2011 to 2014, he worked as the executive editor of Grist, a non-profit green news site.
Before that he founded MediaBugs.org, a project funded by the Knight News Challenge that built a “bug-tracker for news” — a service people can use to report errors in news coverage in their communities and try to get them corrected.
Ronsenberg co-founded Salon back in 1995 and spent a decade there, serving as its first technology editor then became managing editor.
Uchill had been a reporter for The Hill and had covered cybersecurity for the Christian Science Monitor.
