Michelle Pitcher joined Austin Business Journal this week to cover the residential real estate market.
Managing editor Will Anderson reports, “The Texas native has spent the past few years in California, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and freelancing for outlets such as The Mercury News in San Jose.
“Most recently she was a data researcher for the California Reporting Project in San Francisco, helping to analyze police misconduct records, and a research assistant with The Marshall Project in Berkeley, where she researched and reported on law enforcement tactics and contributed to a project covering the impact of Covid-19 on prison inmates.
“Pitcher was also editor in chief at The Daily Californian, leading more than 200 journalists at the Berkeley student newspaper, and previously worked at The Dallas Morning News as an intern covering business.”
