Erin Edgemon has been hired to cover real estate at Austin Business Journal.
A story on its website states, “Most recently, she spent six years as a reporter in Birmingham, Ala., for Alabama Media Group, which owns The Birmingham News, The Huntsville Times and other media outlets. She also spent about a decade as a journalist in Tennessee, including as the business editor of the Murfreesboro Post
“Edgemon will continue ABJ’s thorough coverage of the residential and commercial real estate sectors — reporting not just on the transactions and trends but also on the people who make them happen. Austin’s building boom and all the new players entering the market are just a couple of the many storylines to follow on what is historically the newspaper’s most-read beat.
“‘I’m excited to hit the ground running and become a part of the Austin community,’ Edgemon said. ‘I look forward to getting to know the people involved in all aspects of real estate and construction in this booming city in the coming weeks. I hope to report on what’s driving development in the region as well as what’s being built on the ground.'”
