Atlanta Biz Chronicle publisher Baker leaving after 30 years

Atlanta Business Chronicle publisher Ed Baker is leaving the paper after 30 years for a teaching job at Georgia State University, according to a story on its website.

The story states, “Baker, 64, said he has planned for years to have a third career in business education. Prior to joining the Chronicle he had a very successful advertising career (10 years) followed by a second career spanning three decades at the Chronicle. His goal now is 10 more years in education.

“‘There are very exciting things going on at Georgia State, especially at the Robinson College of Business,’ Baker said.

“Baker has been publisher of Atlanta Business Chronicle since 1986. During that time the paper has grown tremendously and expanded into digital media and events. The Chronicle is owned by American City Business Journals, based in Charlotte, N.C. Baker has also held numerous corporate positions over the years in addition to his Chronicle responsibilities.”
