TALKING BIZ NEWS EXCLUSIVE

The Atlanta Business Chronicle has hired Amy Wenk as its new hospitality reporter, notes David Allison, the editor of the American City Business Journals paper.

Wenk comes from the Midtown Patch, which covers news in midtown Atlanta. She had been there since October 2010.

Wenk will start her new job on Feb. 6. “We believe she’ll bring great vitality to our coverage of Atlanta’s hotel, restaurant and meetings biz,” said Allison in an e-mail to Talking Biz News.

Wenk, a graduate of Clemson University, is a native Atlantan who has worked as a community journalist for several local newspapers. She has covered communities from Buckhead to Cartersville and is also an experienced graphic designer and photographer.

She replaces Lisa Schoolcraft, who became strategies editor at the paper. Schoolcraft replaced Jessica Saunders, who became the paper’s managing editor.
