Glenn Gamboa has joined the business department at the Associated Press as a philanthropy editor.
Previously, he was a managing editor at Karma. There, he assigned and edited daily stories, projects and newsletters for socially conscious business news site, managing staff of three full-time journalists and numerous freelancers among managing other tasks.
He was also a staff writer at Newsday and led the company’s coverage on the influence of hip-hop that was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in explanatory reporting.
Previously, the award-winning journalist was with Akron Beacon Journal for more than 7 years, joining as a business writer and then serving as a pop music writer. He has also worked as a business editor for The Morning Journal.
Currently, Gamboa is also a regular contributor for numerous online and print publications, including CNN, Wired, Spin, NPR, Kirkus Reviews and Alternative Press.
Gamboa is a B.A. in English literature from the University of Cincinnati.
