Asset TV boosting coverage of hedge funds, private equity, sports biz

Gillian Kemmerer

Asset TV, which provides video content on a number of business and financial topics, is expanding its coverage of hedge funds and private equity under former Absolute Return reporter Gillian Kemmerer.

Kemmerer, who was hired in April as head of institutional and alternatives programming, has boosted Asset TV’s programs in hedge funds, private equity, institutional investment and and is now initiating coverage in a favorite area of hers — sports business. It recently launched a sports business channel and a channel dedicated to the business of the Olympics in the lead-up to the Summer Olympics in Brazil.

“We’ve had some coverage in the hedge fund/private equity/institutional space in the past, but this will be our biggest push yet,” said Kemmerer in an email to Talking Biz News. “And we are adding new program formats that suit the industry.”

Those new formats include one-on-one interviews with managers and fund allocators, global conference coverage, and multiple daily Twitter news hits, including a weekly hit from NYSE.

Asset TV is also on a new series of firm/fund profiles and has debuted an Alpha Female channel that focuses on women in finance. Fox Business anchor Liz Claman and Kemmerer interviewed three top women in finance for the Alpha Female segment.

Asset TV recently went to Geneva to interview World Economic Forum chief economist Jennifer Blanke on her macro outlook for 2016. And it attended the HFI European Summit in Paris and SALT in Vegas to interview speakers.
