Editor Ken Symon will be joining Archant as a business and energy editor.
His appointment comes after Archant announced plans to build a new team of business journalists focused on the energy sector.
He starts Jan. 4.
Previously, Symon helmed Reach plc-owned title Scottish Business Insider between 2016 and July this year. He recently also served as associate director at Glasgow-based PR consultancy Hollicom.
Symon also served as a business editor of The Scotsman and the Sunday Herald. He has also worked at the Glasgow Evening Times.
