AP names Fahey its global markets editor

Jonathan Fahey, national energy reporter at The Associated Press and a former Forbes associate editor, has been named AP’s global markets editor.

An AP story states, “Fahey will lead a team of business reporters and work with AP staff around the globe to explain the financial markets’ movements and mechanics to everyday investors. He also will manage AP’s Money & Markets, a service that customizes reports and digital tools on markets and the economy.

“‘Jon has distinguished AP on the energy beat for years,’ said Lisa Gibbs, AP’s business editor. ‘I know he’ll bring similar enthusiasm and drive to helping us find new ways to tell stories about markets.’

“Fahey, 45, will be based in New York. Before joining AP in 2010, he spent 10 years at Forbes as a reporter and associate editor. He also was a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.”
