Dean Rotbart of NewsBios writes Wednesday about Associated Press business writer Harry Weber, who is part of the team of journalists covering the BP oil catastrophe.
Rotbart writes, “Ordinarily a business writer based in Atlanta where he covers airlines and transportation, Weber has been contributing to the BP oil leak story since May 3rd, about two weeks after the initial explosion.
“During that time Weber has covered both the business and technical aspects of the story, reporting from ‘on the Gulf of Mexico,’ various locations in Louisiana and Houston.
“Weber’s stories have explored the impact that the spill is having on BP employees in the U.S.; the ‘bumbling public-relations efforts’ made by the British petroleum company; the potential impact on BP’s stock price and bottom line; and the various efforts to cap the leaking deepwater well.
“Among fellow AP reporters with whom Weber has shared BP-related bylines are Seth Borenstein, Ray Henry, Gerald Herbert and Erin McClam. Hal Ritter is the AP’s business editor and Michelle Williams its South Atlantic region bureau chief. “
