OLD Media Moves

And another one gone, part 12

February 7, 2006

The Cincinnati Enquirer announced in this morning’s newspaper that it will no longer print stock listings in its Tuesday through Saturday business sections, joining a long list of metropolitan newspapers that have cut or eliminated stock listings. The change begins on Feb. 14.

Other newspapers that have cut stock listings include the Chicago Tribune, Denver Post, Providence Journal, Newsday and Orlando Sentinel. I hear that others are in the works.

The Enquirer announced some other changes to its business section, including the fact that the section will no longer be a stand-alone section:

• An expanded local business report highlights a repackaged Sunday Business section, beginning Sunday, Feb. 12.

• In Monday-through-Friday editions, Business will be found in Section A, beginning Monday, Feb. 13.

• An expanded focus on personal finance and business-related issues that affect your life will be reflected in the theme of the Saturday Business section, Your Money, Your Life. Coverage debuts Saturday, Feb. 18.
