Kibkabe Araya has been hired as an in-house desk editor for ALM Media.
She oversees a desk of five reporters covering general counsel and in-house legal departments both in America and abroad for ALM’s publications, including Corporate Counsel, Law.com, The American Lawyer, The National Law Journal, The New York Law Journal and The Recorder.
The in-house desk is focused especially on legal operations, innovations, technology, strategy and trends.
Prior to ALM, she was the special projects editor at the Daily Journal, a California-based legal news provider, overseeing monthly supplements and corporate law content.
After receiving a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University, she completed the E.W. Scripps Fellowship in Multimedia Reporting at the Redding Record Searchlight, now under the USA Today Network, and the Kaiser Media Fellowship in Health Reporting at The Seattle Times.
A Sacramento, California native, she’s contributed to all the major publications in the Capital Region such as The Sacramento Bee, Sacramento Business Journal and Comstock’s.
